Annecy, Monday 5th July – Tuesday 6th July

Monday 5th July

Really hot here again today. Started off with a trip to find some inner tubes for bike. Found a good bike shop quite close by with some guidance from the boss man on site.
Once those were fitted I went off on a ride. Started off up the Col du Forclaz but got half way up and felt a muscle pull in the back of my thigh so aborted that. Instead I retraced my route back up the cycle track and then did a lap of the lake, 25 miles, making a total of about 35.
Came back from the ride and had a shower and then lunch. After lunch took a visit to the pool and then came back to watch the Tour de France. Seems a very scrappy start this year, lots of crashes.
Had a BBQ in the evening and then were joined by Lynn and Dave for drinks before they depart tomorrow.

Tuesday 6th June

Said farewell to Lynn and Dave this morning, again! But I am sure we will see them again some time.
I went for a quick ride to the end of the cycle track, about a 22 mile round trip from the site. There are always loads of cyclists on it and quite a few roller bladees too.
We had another trip to the old part of Annecy as we wanted to see it without all the market stalls and crowds but it was market day again so we aborted that and set off in search of a picnic spot on the other side of the lake but too many people around for us so we had our picnic back at ‘home’.
Watched the tour again after that, another action packed day, loads more crashes.
Took the awning down tonight ready for our departure in a northerly direction in the morning.
